Case Report: Nottingham Primary School Celebrates Pride with Book Featuring Cross-Dressing Adult Man
Inside Whitegate Nursery and Primary School.
Project Stark has uncovered details online of a Nottingham-based nursery and primary school celebrating Pride with children as young as 4-years-old, including books containing images of cross-dressing adult men.
Whitegate Nursery and Primary is based in Clifton, England, on the outskirts of Nottingham, where they strive “to be an inclusive school providing a high quality, creative and challenging education” for their 4 to 11-year-old pupils.
On the website, they state:
“The driving force behind all that happens at Whitegate Primary and Nursery School is the shared aim of every child enjoying access to a stimulating and engaging education, developing both academically and socially and leaving us as life long, independent learners, who are prepared to play a positive role in society.”
Notably, the Pride event was not featured on the school’s website but an “innovative multi academy” trust’s website that partners with Whitegate called Transform Trust.
In Transform Trust’s report, they reveal that Whitegate’s young children “loved reading” the book ‘My Shadow is Pink’.
The novel, written by Scott Stuart (pictured right), sparked significant controversy earlier this year when an American parent discovered the plot entails a young boy who likes to wear dresses and loves ponies, books, and pink toys.
More concerning to the parent was the inclusion of a cartoon drawing of an adult man cross-dressing:
Elsewhere, the charity described how school teachers read a book called ‘And Tango Makes Three’ to children of reception age (4-years-old) to year 2 age (6-years-old). Gay couple Justin Richardson and Peter Parnell originally wrote and published the book in 2005.
The book revolves around two male penguins who adopt and raise a baby female penguin in Central Park Zoo. Richardson and Parnell claim it is intended to teach about diverse families. They insist the correct reading age is 3 to 8-years-old.
Assistant Headteacher of Whitegate Primary School, Sophie Wan, claims:
“Here at Whitegate, we encourage discussions on a wide range of topics so that we can ensure all children feel like they truly belong and have their own unique place in the world. We celebrate rather than simply tolerate and empower children to ask questions, to understand and articulate how they are feeling with their teachers and classmates. We encourage and support every child to come to school as their authentic self and we encourage them to celebrate the uniqueness of others.”
Rebecca Meredith, CEO of Transform Trust, added:
“Our family of schools understand the importance of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) and are committed to ensuring important topics that support these values are explored in ways that are age-appropriate, accessible and relevant . We believe every child needs and deserves to feel they can be true to themselves, feel included and know that they belong to our diverse and happy Transform Trust family. Pride month provides a fantastic opportunity for our schools to demonstrate how their carefully planned, creative curriculums truly embed these concepts in a way that is understandable and meaningful for all of our children. We are really proud of Whitegate for truly going the extra mile and celebrating the many wonderful aspects of PRIDE in a sensitive and engaging manner.”
Transform Trust, which describes themselves as an “enabling organisation”, currently partners with 22 schools in various parts of England, excluding Whitegate.
The Executive Headteacher of Whitegate, Lee Noble, presumably oversees the school’s major events and activities.
This year it appears they did not celebrate Pride but “express yourself day”, as featured on their X profile, which you can access here.
Do the parents of Whitegate Nursery and Primary School know teachers have shown images of cross-dressing adult men to their 4-year-old children?
Did they have any say in it? Is there any vetting process involving parents for education materials?
Far from helping them, has the school considered they might influence and/or confuse their pupils by introducing these complex topics at such a young age?
Is it appropriate for a nursery and primary school to celebrate sexuality? Should this be taught when they are much older or by their parents?
It is sick. No other way to describe it. Schools should not be doing ANY sex education other than the biological reality.
That said it does fit the population reduction agenda 2030.
I am a parent of a child at a Notts primary school. The school are affirm children who demand to be called they/them and read all classes the Book my Shadow is Pink/Purple.
I have made formal.complaints and got no where with the trust and school recognising the harms of introducing queer theory to 4-11 year olds.
Just 3 weeks ago I set up a Come and Talk table featuring the Shadow Books and other highly inappropriate images the school sent to parents to help "support your child's sex education". I just wanted to raise awareness amongst parents and the school called the police on me. I was not on school premises and no crime was a committed. This is what parents are facing..we must put a stop to the indoctrination of our children.
I want to help with this school and raise consciousness so that every parent knows what is being pushed upon their children.
